The rules
Daddy gets €10,000. Harriet gets €10,000. You have to choose one place to stay for one night in Monaco. Your accommodation must come out of the budget. Anything left can be spent on food, room service or whatever else makes your night better. Everything must be genuinely bookable and use real prices. No freebies, favours or “Daddy knows someone.” Go over €10,000 and technically you’ve broken the rules — although Daddy may already be challenging the definition of “technically.” Then we decide whose night we'd actually rather have.

If I’ve got €10,000 for one night in Monaco, I want to do something I’ll actually remember. I can stay in a hotel anywhere. But waking up on a catamaran in Monaco harbour, having coffee on deck surrounded by superyachts? That feels properly Monaco. And yes, I may have gone slightly over budget. I prefer to think of it as enthusiastic accounting.

Harriet has gone for classic Monaco: a Sea View Suite with Terrace at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, overlooking the Mediterranean from one of Monaco's most famous hotels. But she's not wasting the rest of the budget on a tasting menu. Her big culinary decision? McDonald's. Delivered to the Hôtel de Paris. Because apparently the perfect Monaco evening is a luxury suite, an incredible terrace, a sea view… and fries in a paper bag.

€100 MONACO LUNCH CHALLENGE Dad vs Daughter. Same budget. Same city. Very different ideas. Dad and Harriet each have €100 to create the best lunch in Monaco. The rules are simple: choose the restaurant, order lunch, a drink and something sweet — and don't spend a cent over €100. Dad thinks experience will win. Harriet thinks Dad hasn't got a clue. They make their choices independently, reveal what they ordered and exactly what it cost. Then there's only one question that matters: Who spent the €100 better? 👨 DAD vs 👧 HARRIET You decide. Vote for the winner. Loser pays? Technically Dad pays either way. Which does feel like a flaw in the format.
